Rally photographer from Belgium wanted!
Rothmans? Andrews? Bastos? When the name of one of these companies is mentioned, every motorsport enthusiast immediately thinks of the typical color scheme of the corresponding rally cars. But even beyond the well-known, famous and popular liveries, there are some hidden gems - like the Opel Manta 400 above, which drifted under my nose in a YouTube video.
In contrast to other local rallies, where usually only sponsor stickers are plastered on the naked bodywork without any concept, here someone seems to have put a little more thought into the design. Or am I the only one who recognizes a certain proximity to the BMW "Art Car" by Alexander Calder?
Unfortunately, photos of the fast work of art are hard to find, even though Alain Vandy drove the three-color Opel for three years (1990 to 1992) in the Belgian rally championship. After all, main sponsor Seridel - a commercial printing company in Nivelles - is still in business. Maybe they have an archive...
