Where has Peugeot actually gone?

Do you remember? A few decades ago, if you took a cab in Paris, there was a good chance that you would be sitting in a Peugeot. The Peugeot 404 was followed by the 504, 505 or 405 models, and even in the movie "Taxi" it was a Peugeot that became a speedy racing car in the city of Paris thanks to its extending wings.
But today, hardly anything in Paris is reminiscent of the once proud French car manufacturer. The cabs are almost exclusively Toyota or Hyundai, with the occasional BMW or Tesla in between.
The lion as a Peugeot trademark is also a rarity in the civilian street scene. Here too, it seems that other nations have the edge.
It is therefore fitting that Peugeot no longer had an official stand at the Rétromobile Paris . Unlike Citroën (70 years of DS) and Renault, the lion stayed away from the trade fair. Peugeot was only represented on club stands and in the market area. Instead, there were official factory stands from Toyota, Mitsubishi and Mazda. Apparently, Japan has a better feel for car buyers' love of tradition than Stellantis. Let's see how the story continues ...
