We don't buy anything!
09/01/2024
If I were selling a car, I would be annoyed by people like myself. People who look at a car out of sheer curiosity without even the slightest intention of buying it. To clarify, I must add: only virtually, of course, not in the flesh. So the advertisers probably don't even realize that I'm doing it.
The daily overview from bringatrailer.com is just as suitable for this as our weekly vehicle market newsletter. As soon as I read prefixes like "One-family-owned", "Original-owner" or "60-years-owned", I can't stop myself from clicking on the ad. I'm less interested in the cars than in the stories surrounding them.
Almost all vehicles advertised in this way are accompanied by stories from the past, historical photos or touching memories. Recently, the seller of a Mercedes even showed old Super 8 films of the first vacation trip with the car in the sixties. I would even spend money to preserve such things. Unfortunately, there's always a car to go with it.
