This is not a "lost place"...
You can certainly find "lost places" in Belgium, but the garage in the photo above is definitely not one of them. Nor are there any brand-new, forgotten cars in the showroom. After all, it would be rather strange if the location, situated on a busy arterial road and close to the Spa-Francorchamps racetrack, had remained so completely unnoticed for decades.
During my research, I found out more from the son of the owner of the property in question. His father once had an official Volvo dealership on the site in question in Malmedy/B. After the conditions for dealers - in terms of premises etc. - changed considerably in the nineties, the dealership was closed down.
However, people still live on the private property and a service station is still operated there. And the Volvos in the "showroom" are by no means "forgotten new vehicles", but normal used cars that are now classic cars with mileages of more than 100,000 km. In other words, a completely unspectacular situation - nothing more and nothing less. So there is no need to fear a "social tornado" ...
