The history is important to most classic car owners (question of the week)
02/13/2023
Not every classic car once belonged to a famous film star or sportsman, not every old car raced at Le Mans or the Tulip Rally decades ago.
Nevertheless, even ordinary cars can tell exciting stories if you let them - and if the previous owners have played their part.
For some, rummaging through the past of their own classic car is the greatest happiness, for others nothing counts but driving in the here and now.
We wanted to find out what this is like for Zwischengas readers and asked the following " question of the week" : How interested are you in the history of your car?
Over 400 readers took part in the survey and 85.8% are somewhat or very interested in the history of their classic car. For 39.9%, the interest is even very great, they collect all the documents and talk to previous owners. 45.9% are somewhat interested, but primarily want to understand the main lines.
11.1% are only slightly interested in the history of the car, at most wanting to know the maintenance history, while a further 1.7% are not at all interested in the time before they came into possession of the car.
And 1.4%, for the sake of completeness, could not see themselves represented in any of the answers given.
Graphically, the answers look like this:
We have already asked a follow-up question. Now we want to know how hard classic car drivers are trying to complete the story. The new " question of the week" is therefore: How well do you document your classic car yourself?
And of course you can still read the results of all previous "Questions of the Week" in the corresponding topic channel.
