A Miura for under EUR 70,000
Two white Miura cars were auctioned off this weekend. A 1968 example was offered CHF 1.3 million at RM/Sotheby's in St. Moritz , but this was not enough for the consignor. The Lamborghini remained unsold.
Bonhams also auctioned a white Miura at Beaulieu in the UK and it was sold for £ 57,500 (EUR 65,550).
At second glance, however, it is immediately apparent that the Bonhams Miura was not a Lamborghini-produced example from the 1960s, but a replica. This came from Prova Designs and was the first of around 55 examples built in 1991.
The car was originally powered by a Renault V6, but a 3.4-liter V8 from Ferrari has since been installed in the Miura. So a Miura with a Ferrari engine, what a combination, albeit as yet untested.
The interior is inspired by the original Miura, but is more modern.
According to Bonhams , some work is still needed on the replica before it can be put on the road, but in the end the buyer has only paid 1/15 of the price of a real Lamborghini Miura.
