Ever heard of an Edfoy? Or is it Edfor?

No, that's not a typo, we're talking about the Edfoy (or Edford) and not the Ivy. More precisely, the Edfor Grand Sport from 1937 was offered by the company Ed. Ferreririnha & Jrmao in Porto and the two-seater was certainly not slow. A Ford V8 with a displacement of 3.6 liters helped the roadster, which weighed just 970 kg and had a wheelbase of 2.7 meters, to reach a top speed of 160 km/h - in third gear, of course, as there was no fourth gear.
I wonder if one of these fast sports cars ever made it to our latitudes?
P.S. If you are interested in the Edfoy/Edfor, we have digitized the 1937 sales brochure . However, a little Portuguese wouldn't hurt for the detailed reading, but the pictures are also worth a second look. There you can also see the logo, which is not very easy to interpret. The Automobil Revue turned the last letter into a "Y" in 1981, whereas an "r" would obviously be more correct, as one commentator gratefully pointed out. Here is the logo from the 1937 brochure. Judge for yourself how the creative lettering can be interpreted. However, the "for" should now clearly stand for Ford, which would make sense in the context of the engine choice.
