Start correctly

We don't want to offend the nice lady, but do you think she has mastered the art of starting this Fiat 1400 B? To make ourselves smarter, we take a look at the manual , which is just over 60 pages long and explains not only the main features and maintenance of the car, but of course also how to "use the car".
"Set the controls as follows :
- Transmission shift lever to neutral.
- Insert the shift key into the ignition starter switch and turn it fully to the right as far as it will go.
- This activates the starter motor. (Never depress the drive foot pedal!). Immediately after the engine starts, release the key, which then automatically returns to position I.
- With a cold start, it is essential to avoid revving the engine to high speeds immediately after starting!"
The modalities for hot and slightly warm engines are also explained and there is also a chapter on "Switching off" with a warning:
"To switch off the engine, it is sufficient to turn the key to the vertical position. When the engine is not running, the key must never remain in the ignition position (turned to the right) to prevent the ignition coil from burning out, which could happen in a short time."
The advantages and technology of the carburetor are also discussed and a warning is given that you should never give short bursts of gas when starting (due to activation of the acceleration pump and over-greasing of the mixture).
If you are worried about starting problems with a Fiat 1400B, it is best to have a look at the owner's manual yourself ...
