Automotive humor past and present
01/20/2021
The world is changing and humor is changing with it. Almost 60 years ago, a Ford photo series showed a car breakdown involving two ladies in a Taunus 12M.
Apparently the car broke down. So the ladies stuck their heads into the owner's manual.
The fault was then looked for under the hood, but not found.
Thank goodness a man came along and had the (literally) brilliant idea.
The car simply lacked the necessary fuel.
Problem solved, the humor has probably held up less well than the car photographed at the time. In any case, an advertisement like this would no longer be appropriate today.
But even today, people still advertise with female and male elements, even if they are just voices from the computer.
And people no longer talk about glitches, but rather about "smart" user interfaces ...
