Almost like 40 years ago

I dreamed of this 40 years ago, of a ride in a Triumph Spitfire 1500, when I traveled to Geneva to look at the new cars at the motor show. And I was even allowed to sit in the Triumph Spitfire, which you could still buy as a new car in 1979/80, even though I didn't even have a driver's license yet.
The cramped space in the tastefully furnished cockpit felt great. The gearshift with its short travel seemed so much sportier than the gearbox in our old VW Beetle. A real sports car! I would have loved to speed off.
But even the 12,900 francs was of course far too much money for me, even if it was just the equivalent of a VW Golf GL. But my father set different criteria when buying a car.
So the Triumph Spitfire 1500 remained a dream that never came true. At least now, 40 years later, I was allowed to drive it. My impressions are documented in the driving report ( with video!).
