By November at the latest, many classic and vintage car owners are considering whether they should winterize their cars and protect them from the salt and damp of the cold season. The question then quickly arises as to whether they should fill their car before storing it in a dry garage or whether it is better to drive it empty. There are arguments for both options.
For once, however, classic and vintage car drivers (and 664 answered our question of the weekon this topic) seem to be in agreement: 83% of them always fill up the tank when the season is over and the old car is parked in the dry garage until spring. Around a quarter of these owners also pour an additive into the tank to stabilize the fuel over the winter.
Virtually no one leaves the tank empty (1%). Then there is a small group that does not pay particular attention to how much fuel is in the tank when the car is winterized.
The graphically analyzed answers look like this:

And the next question of the week has already been asked. This time it's about whether the procurement of new tires for the old car is actually as problem-free as one might imagine.
