When Santa goes on a shopping spree ...
Christmas was approaching once again and Santa was thinking about his upcoming appearance. I can't possibly drive up with the sleigh and the reindeer again, I'll make a fool of myself, he said to himself. And so one morning he set off for the car dealership, which was conveniently located at the North Pole. He entered and said he needed a replacement for his reindeer sleigh.
The friendly car salesman looked up attentively from his busy administrative work and said he would come straight away. It took another ten or twenty minutes, because some of his customers wanted to change their offers on the phone and his wife also needed to know whether she should prepare salad as a starter or something else. But in the end, the car salesman joined Santa Claus, who had already had a chance to look around. "It has to be red, that's for sure," said the bearded man to the clean-shaven man. "That narrows down the choice considerably," replied the latter, "because it's not a popular color these days." "And of course I don't want a new car, it has to be a classic or vintage car like the ones the TV detectives drive," Santa continued. And the salesman led him to a back corner, where there were indeed three red cars alongside many other used cars. "It's best if you just test drive one after the other; I'd recommend the Subaru, but maybe you fancy more rally ambience?" suggested the well-dressed salesman.
And so Santa set off to see for himself the advantages of all-wheel drive in the Subaru 1600. Next he took a seat in a Lancia Delta Integrale and finally in a Renault 5 Turbo. Back from the three test drives, he summarized: "I like them all! The Subaru is certainly the most practical of the three, because it has a folding rear seat and a relatively large trunk. The Lancia is probably the fastest and also offers good space. The Renault, however, is certainly not suitable for transporting large packages, but I really enjoyed it because it can be thrown into corners so wonderfully and has a lot of traction despite having only two driven wheels. It also has this wonderful turbo bump. What am I supposed to do?"
The salesman looked in his records and realized that he would probably make the most money on the Renault and suggested: "Let your heart decide. What do you want with a large trunk if you don't enjoy driving it? And anyway, kids these days download everything from the Internet anyway and you can also store a few USB sticks, smartphones and computer games in the trunk behind the mid-engine of the Renault 5 Turbo".
Santa Claus was persuaded, bought the Renault and drove off.
And if some Christmas presents are a little smaller this year, it is certainly due to the small trunk of the French compact sports car. Santa just couldn't carry any more ...
