So beautiful in yellow

No, this is not a Renault 8 Gordini. From 1969 to 1971, with its debut in August 1968, Renault produced the Renault 8 S, which had twin headlights like the R8 Gordini, but had to do without its large and powerful engine. The 1108 cm3 four-cylinder engine in the R8 S was good for 53 hp (DIN) thanks to the Weber 32 DIR downdraft register carburetor, which helped the four-door car, which weighed 770 kg empty, to achieve lively, if not really sporty, performance. 145 km/h were possible, the standing kilometer was covered in 37.8 seconds.
It only became really sporty with the bright yellow paintwork, which contrasted so beautifully with the usual Gordini blue, and of course the two helmeted rally drivers make the car look particularly dynamic, even though the car was probably stationary in the photo.
The picture can of course also be found in high resolution in our picture archive .
