No trend reversal - classic car prices to continue rising in 2016
There is constant discussion that classic and vintage car prices cannot possibly continue to rise at this rate and that the "bubble" will have to burst at some point. And as soon as an auction anywhere in the world achieves unsatisfactory results below expectations, some prophets are immediately on the scene talking about market corrections and falling prices.
Our" question of the week" to our readers was therefore whether they thought we had reached the turning point or whether prices would continue to rise.
The optimism surprised even us. 16% assume that prices will continue to rise with hardly any slowdown in growth.
42% expect prices to rise, albeit more moderately, with buyers focusing primarily on sought-after classics.
29% predict market stagnation, i.e. neither strong price increases nor decreases.
In total, around 87% do not expect it to become cheaper to buy classic cars in 2016.
Just a dozen out of a hundred believe that the market will correct downwards, so if the majority are right, we will see new record prices at auctions in 2016. The three major auction houses, which will once again be hosting their multi-day sales events in Arizona in January, are already preparing accordingly and their estimates support the optimists' thesis.

And of course we have already asked the next question. This time we want to know whether replicas with modern enginesare also desirable in this country, as has just been introduced in the USA.
