Road safety checks should have priority with MFK and TÜV
In our "Question of the week", we tackled a sensitive topic. We asked:" What exactly should inspection bodies check on classic cars?"
With the increasing privileges of classic cars with H registration (D) or veteran registration (CH), the demands on the vehicles and the test centers are also increasing. While they were previously mainly responsible for the road safety of the vehicles inspected, they also assess the condition of classic cars and whether they are in their original condition. Does this combination of tasks make sense and what should the test centers focus on?
The analysis of the responses shows that although the Zwischengas readers are primarily in favor of the inspection bodies concentrating on road safety (39%), at least a third also think it is right that MFK/TÜV/etc. should also take care of the condition of the vehicle. Around a quarter agree that the test centers should (continue to) assess road safety, condition and original condition.
