15,150 km, 1,420 liters of petrol and 5 liters of oil later

After a total of 15,150 km, our humpback Volvo arrived safely in Shanghai. It had consumed 1,420 liters of petrol and 5 liters of oil. We didn't have to repair a single puncture, only the alternator came to an end, there were two dents in the windshield, a part broke out of the front axle beam, the left windshield lift stopped working and the odometer even gave up on all humpback Volvos. Apart from a few minor cosmetic changes, the car is still as fresh as it was at the beginning of the trip and it has never let us down!
We have become accustomed to Chinese cuisine and we will certainly soon be missing hot vegetables, meat, rice and noodles for breakfast. We knowingly didn't eat any dogs, scorpions, toads or snakes, but we did eat all sorts of delicious, undefinable things.
In the meantime, the cars have been loaded into containers for the well-deserved journey home. The end of a long journey, the end of the Silk Road Rally from Istanbul to Shanghai.
In a few weeks, we and the car will be back home, ready for new adventures.
