Those were the days when England's products were as impressive in the air as they were on the ground . And this picture, which we recently found in the archive, illustrates the former claim to leadership particularly impressively.
It shows the Formula 1 cars from Lotus, Cooper, BRM and Lola being transported to Watkins Glen (USA) in 1963 on a Bristol 175 Britannia cargo plane operated by the British airline BOAC.
We have written about these Formula 1 transports before, but we did not want to withhold this original photo from our readers.
