50 years of MG B at the British Car Meeting in Morges
Once again, major anniversaries were celebrated at this year's Swiss Classic British Car Meeting in Morges. The MG B turned 50 in 2012 and its later offspring, the MG R V8 , was presented 20 years ago.
The Lotus Elan also received a lot of attention in its fiftieth year. The weather at the cozy meeting on Lake Geneva was late summery with temperatures above 20 degrees and plenty of sunshine, and so over 1,500 classic cars arrived in Morges. Within a few hundred meters, the keen observer could discover rare Aston-Martin, Lotus, Triumph, Vauxhall, Morris, etc. and meet the owners of the Rolls-Royces and Bentleys at a leisurely picnic. Sometimes it's not even that English on the island in the north ....
Next year, Aston-Martin will be celebrating its 100th birthday, so make a note of the first weekend in October now!
