Giotto Bizzarrini - Honoring a master of automotive design
10/27/2012
On October 23, 2012, Professor Giotto Bizzarrini was awarded the Dr. Honoris Causa for Industrial Design by the University of Florence. This title is awarded extremely rarely; it was the second time in three years.
Bizzarrini, now 86 years old, has designed a large number of vehicles that are among the most extraordinary and famous of their kind, e.g. Ferrari 250 GTO, Ferrari 250 Testarossa, Ferrari 250 GT SWB, Ferrari 250 GT Breadvan, ASA 1000 GTC, Iso Grifo, Iso/Bizzarrini A3C, Corsa, Strada, P538, AMX/3, Iso Rivolta Varedo, etc.
It is safe to say that Giotto Bizzarrini is one of the best automotive engineers of all time ... and thus more than deserved and rightly enjoyed the tribute, which took place in the presence of hundreds of guests and some of his greatest works, at the University of Florence.
