In the early sixties, the US magazine Road & Track ran a "PS" section. These pages featured photos that told a whole story, such as the accident picture (above), in which an Austin Healey Sprite driver really got under the wheels. Fortunately, the driver got off lightly.
Louis Chevrolet also emerged from his crashed vehicle in the Van der Built Cup without any significant injuries, but his chances of victory were gone.
And it is not known whether the driver of the accident, who placed his wreck in front of the appropriate Ford advertisement ("the best bodywork I've ever bumped into ..."), was able to leave his vehicle without injury.
