Who knows Veritas man Lorenz Dietrich?
08/15/2012
About some people you can find (in books or on the Internet) almost every detail of their lives, about others little is known or there are large gaps in the documented biography.
Lorenz Dietrich is one of these people, and two automobile historians - Markus Neugebauer and Wolfgang Thierack - are trying to shed more light on the life of Lorenz Dietrich in their work on the Veritas story.
Some things are already known. Dietrich was born in Munich in 1909, took up a position as a businessman at BMW in 1931, managed the Gnome-Rhone engine works in Paris between 1941 and 1942, where he also met Paul Panhard. After working at BMW and FBZ, he founded the company Veritas in Messkirch/Baden together with Loof on March 1, 1947. From 1952 to 1954 he worked at Dyna Veritas, but from 1958 to 1961 he became sales director at Borgward. In 1962, he became head of Volvo Germany.
But what did Lorenz Dietrich do after 1965, who did he work for and in what capacity? The two Veritas historians would very much like to find out more about the later (but also earlier) stages of Lorenz Dietrich's life.
Anyone who can help or was even a personal acquaintance of Lorenz Dietrich should simply get in touch with Zwischengas using the contact form. We will be happy to forward any serious correspondence to the two historians and Veritas researchers.
By the way - the car in the picture is a Veritas Comet S from 1950. Behind it is the whole team, Lorenz Dietrich (with dark glasses) is the second from the right.
