Transporting a Porsche 550 Spider in an extended VW "Bulli" is a perfect match.
Now that the VW Group has taken over Porsche, there are finally suitable commercial vehicles to transport the sports cars in style.
In the English-speaking world, the term "state of the art" refers to a high level of development of a technology or product. It largely corresponds to the German term "Stand der Technik". Colloquially, it usually refers to the most advanced technical device available in its class.
So there we have it in a nutshell: the Bulli is the more advanced commercial vehicle and the Porsche is the more advanced sports car. Fits!
