About the "makers" of Zwischengas - Bruno von Rotz (writer and editor-in-chief)
My enthusiasm for classic cars began early in my life. Cars have been at the center of my interest since I was a child. Of course, originally I wasn't necessarily enthusiastic about "old" cars, but about "current" ones, but these are of course classic cars today. Long before I got my driver's license (on time at the age of 18 in the summer of 1979), I attended brand and sports car meetings as well as car races and watched the greats of the time race up the hill or round the Nordschleife.
My first car of my own was an Alfa-Romeo Alfasud TI, soon followed by an Alfasud Sprint and then the first classic, a Fiat 850 Sport Spider. And so it went on, alternating between older and newer cars. Even back then, I read everything I could get my hands on about cars and formed the basis of my now quite extensive magazine archive.
My enthusiasm for exotic plastic sports cars also goes back a long way; many years ago I became passionately interested in brands such as Puma, TVR and Lotus. So it's no wonder that today I take part in historic hill climbs in a rare 1962 Australian plastic sports car called the JWF Milano GT.
Professionally, I focused on IT after leaving school and was involved in Internet-related developments at various companies early on. The idea for Zwischengas fermented for several years until Daniel Reinhard and I decided to get down to business. As co-founder and editor-in-chief of Zwischengas, I have practically turned my hobby into a profession, a privilege that many people envy me for. But that doesn't mean it's all a bed of roses. I spend many, many hours in archives, collecting photos and old reports, researching on the Internet, in books and old magazines so that, together with my colleagues, I can present new and interesting articles every week.
One of the highlights of this work is certainly the conversations with vehicle owners, the intensive study of rare vehicles and the occasional drive in one of these classic cars. And another hobby, photography, can of course also be perfectly integrated into my area of responsibility.
It goes without saying that there is not much time left for other hobbies in addition to all these activities, and thank God my family understands this.
