Start with the prologue to RAID 2011
08/17/2011
When a rally starts almost on our doorstep, of course we don't miss it. This year's RAID started this morning with the prologue. As usual, the meeting point was Bürkliplatz in Zurich. From 08:00 onwards, the vehicles trickled in, making their way to the starting point from all sides.
The rare classic cars that arrived here in a short space of time impressed not only the spectators who were there by chance or by design, but also many of the rally participants. And in addition to the well-known classics such as the Mercedes Benz 300 SL, the Pagoda or the Porsche 356 and 911, which are of course also represented at events such as the RAID, rarely seen rarities such as the Monica, a Talbot Lago or a BMW Dixi also arrived.
The morning was not entirely stress-free for the participants. First they had to get through the morning traffic, then find the Bürkliplatz, park correctly in the allocated space and collect their documentation and start numbers.
The start numbers then had to be stuck onto the car without creasing. And then the rally sign had to be tied on. But in the end, we were able to drink coffee in peace and admire the other participating vehicles.
