Porsche Carrera 6 - a cultivated sports car
In the spring of 1966, AR employees had the opportunity to test drive the Porsche Carrera 6.
They were given the last vehicle in the 50-customer series to test, which was characterized by a smaller steering wheel compared to earlier models, among other things. Their experiences are documented in the short test from May 5, 1966. From today's perspective, it seems fascinating that the car performed significantly better than comparable vehicles in terms of driving culture. And when we read the sentence " ... the Porsche Carrera 6 could also be driven by any technically and sportily gifted average car driver ...", we wonder whether this statement would also apply to today's DSG and assistance system-accustomed drivers.
The testers praised the interior, the engine's willingness to start, the good forward visibility, the brakes ("... the brakes are a poem ...") and the handling. They were quite right when they predicted numerous successes back then.
The test report is an exciting testimony to the times and can only be recommended to every Porsche fan, but also to every friend of fast locomotion!
