It wasn't so long ago that the pictured concept car wowed visitors to the motor show, and even today people still seem to remember this certainly unusual concept car. Would you still recognize the car if the brand logo and typical manufacturer design elements were missing? You can test your memory and knowledge here.
It is well known that car manufacturers who wanted to be something at the turn of the millennium presented pioneering design studies, concept cars and prototypes at motor shows around the world. Like Audi's Rosemeyer shown above in 2000.
The one-offs were intended to whet the appetite for future design directions or model variants and they usually deviated significantly from what the normal car buyer could drive at the time.
Around 20 years later, most of these studies have disappeared into museums or basements and underground garages. Not all of them really succeeded in influencing series production.
We have selected a few examples, all of which were presented between 1997 and 2003. Now it's up to you to recognize the concept cars and their manufacturers! Do you want to give it a try?
