Almost like back then - the Nobe 100
06/10/2018
At first glance, the pretty three-wheeler looks like a combination of well-known cabin scooters from the 1950s, spiced up with a dash of special post-war bodywork.
Underneath the shell, however, the most modern electrical technology of the modern age is to be found, if the "Nobe" is to roll one day.
Before then, however, the people behind the Nobe 100 are still looking for money, around one million euros. Then the development should really start, because so far there is little more than a mock-up and nice computer animations.
However, these are very much in tune with the times and, as a tricycle, the electric vehicle can of course be built much more cheaply and easily, as many of the safety requirements that are currently imposed on cars do not apply to such vehicles. Nevertheless, one may wonder whether all the solutions outlined can really be implemented 1:1 and produced cost-effectively.
The activities surrounding the electric Microlino from Switzerland show just how complex even the development and production of a simple cabin scooter is.
The BMW Isetta was the inspiration here and it has been over two years since the first appearance as a finished vehicle (at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show) and still no large series have been built. It remains to be seen whether enough "crowd funders" can be found to support the much airier Nobe 100 project.
