They came into the world at almost the same time and both were influenced by aircraft design, the Inter even more so than the Messerschmitt. But the German version was much more successful, so what went wrong with the French? The Inter Autoscooter looks more like an airplane than a helicopter, but as soon as you start it up, it becomes clear why it resembles a helicopter. Its Westinghouse gyro starter, which acts as a starter via a flywheel, sounds exactly like a helicopter taking off. At least until the two-stroke engine comes to life (be sure to listen to the sound sample!). But Inter also has many other things in common with aircraft; after all, it was the "Société Nationale de Construction Aéronautique du Nord" (SNCAN), an aircraft company from Lyon, that built the cabin scooter. This also revealed some similarities with the German Messerschmitt.
