Connected with historic racing - Peter Studer (obituary)
05/15/2018
"And my soul spread its wings wide. Flew through the silent land as if flying home." This was the first thing you could read on Peter Studer's website on Monday. This was followed by the sad announcement: "On Sunday evening, May 13, 2018, Peter set off on his last journey. His condition suddenly deteriorated dramatically on Saturday. We accompanied him and held his hand. He finally fell asleep peacefully and quietly in the presence of Doris."
Peter Studer's heart beat for historic racing cars all his life. He owned two wonderful Lotus formula racing cars, in which he often and enthusiastically took part in events everywhere. His extremely likeable and calm manner spoke for him.
He started four years ago at the Grand Prix Historique Monaco in the beautiful Lotus 24 and, after a short period of familiarization, quickly found his line on the difficult circuit. As a rookie, he was able to celebrate eighth place after a spirited race.
This was exactly four years ago to the day. Last Sunday, we raced again in Monaco, but without Peter, as he started his very last race after suffering a serious brain tumor and left us forever.
The classic car scene has lost a dear person in him. We would like to express our condolences to his family.
"Dont' let the SUN go down on me!"
