Two Le Mans winners from Porsche on the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring
35 years lie between the two 24-hour winners from Stuttgart. The Porsche 956 won Le Mans for the first time in 1982 and the 919 Hybrid for the last time in 2017.
Hans Joachim Stuck drove the 956 on a demo lap through the Green Hell yesterday, shortly before the start of the 24-hour race, closely followed by Timo Bernhard in the 919 Hybrid.
Hans Joachim Stuck won the 24-hour classic twice in the 956 successor 962C and clearly felt at home in the mid-engined sports car.
The public's interest and enthusiasm for the two vehicles was also very high. Too bad there wasn't enough time for a demo lap.
And of course the lap record, which the 956 still holds on the Nürburgring, was not broken.
