Cheating for the second time - the ride on two wheels
06/19/2017
Normally, as we all know, four wheels are the norm on intermediate throttle, and from time to time it can be three (e.g. Morgan Threewheeler) or six (e.g. Tyrrell P34), but two? Never really.
Well, we have already made one exception in the last few days when we published a report on the Tourist Trophy on the Isle of Man . The second exception is this short article/blog.
In fact, a single-cylinder 500cc Honda has found its way into the editorial fleet. It's a nostalgia story, so to speak, as the Honda XBR 500S was once at the top of my shopping list 30 years ago. That didn't work out and I rode a four-cylinder Suzuki instead, until the motorcycle had to make way for the ever-expanding car fleet.
After a few kilometers on the vintage motorcycle, which of course was not enough, as you also need a lot of riding and protective equipment, it can be said that it is still a great thing to ride around bends on two wheels today. You don't need 200 hp or a wheelie control system. 27 hp, five gears, a simple steel tube frame, a tank and handlebars with two beautiful round instruments are all you need.
But don't worry, the motorcycle won't be pushing the car either on intermediate throttle or when the editors are driving, we love cars far too much for that ...
