The day the DeLorean didn't land
The sensation did not happen yesterday, October 21, 2015 (of course). Despite the enthusiasm and the many special events, Dr. Emmett L. Brown, Marty McFly and his girlfriend Jennifer did not land in Hill Valley yesterday, as the film "Back to the Future" had made it out to be.
Nevertheless, the media response triggered by the fictional movie date was enormous. Parties were celebrated and toys sold like they were on sale.
The actual main protagonist in the film, the DeLorean DMC-12, did not benefit much.
Its production ended in February 1982, but the "Back to the Future" film trilogy triggered a veritable hype about the car that continues to this day. And rightly so, because even in 2015, the stainless steel sports car with its gullwing doors still looks futuristic, even without the retracted swivel wheels.
And it would be a laugh if the Hollywood film industry, poor in ideas, didn't produce a part 4 at some point ... To be continued ...
