What do Jackie Stewart and Jean Alesi have in common?
06/11/2014
That's right, Jackie Stewart and Jean Alesi are both celebrating a milestone birthday today, June 11.
Jackie Stewart, born in 1939, turns 75 today. The three-time world champion (69, 71 and 73) started his great F1 career in 1965 at the South African GP and ended it abruptly in Canada in 1973 after the fatal accident of his team-mate Francois Cevert. This left him with 99 starts and 27 victories. If you want to get to know Jackie better, you must watch the movie " Weekend of a Champion " by Roman Polanski. Polanski accompanied Stewart with his camera over the entire Monaco weekend. The result is simply brilliant.
Jean Alesi, born in 1964, was unfortunately only able to celebrate a single Grand Prix victory (Canada 1995), but he is and remains one of the most likeable drivers of all time. Always in good spirits and full of enthusiasm for everything that has four wheels, you simply have to love him. He is now 50 years old and has competed in 201 races from the French GP in 1989 to the Japanese GP in 2001.
The Zwischengas team would like to congratulate them both and wish them all the best for the future.
