Classics in tough use
10/04/2015
There are classic car owners who keep their cars protected in the collection and in the dry, but there are also those who drive them. In all weathers and, if necessary, in competition with their modern descendants.
At the Autosalom Ambri in the Swiss canton of Ticino, there were a number of Opel Kadett GT/E, VW Golf GTI Mk 1, BMW M3 E30 and even a Triumph Dolomite Sprint to be seen alongside all the modern Mitsubishi Lancers, Mini Coopers and Renault Méganes. And these oldies did remarkably well on the rain-soaked track!
The fact that there was even a Fiat-Abarth 850 TC along for the ride was of course something very special, but that's another story for another time ...
