One man's triumph is another man's misfortune

" Triumph TR3" was the motto for this year's F1 season opener in Melbourne. Each of the 22 F1 drivers was able to celebrate their own triumph at the drivers' parade while being chauffeured around Albert Park.
Some were able to repeat their triumph in the race, while others travel on to Malaysia with modest triumphs in the hope of a little more triumph.
The biggest triumph was celebrated by the triumphant Nico Rosberg in the Mercedes (picture above). Local hero Daniel Ricciardo, on the other hand, probably triumphed in the race itself, but was stripped of his triumph shortly afterwards, as his Renault turbo was injected with more fuel per hour than is permitted.
The two F1 rookies Kevin Magnussen and Daniil Kviat must also be counted as triumphants. Seven years after Lewis Hamilton, Magnussen is the second McLaren driver to triumph on the podium on his Grand Prix debut. Kviat drove the Toro Rosso to the points without causing much of a stir.
No one in the TR3 knew whether it would be a triumph or not, so at least this lap could be enjoyed by all.
