Summary
With the Ferrari F355, the sports car manufacturer from Maranello replaced the 348, which had been severely outclassed by the competition. With the F355, Ferrari achieved a convincing liberation. Even today, the sports car still impresses with its qualities, especially as a Spider. You can also come to terms with the F1 automated manual gearbox. This driving report shows a late F355 F1 Spider in many pictures and tells the story of the model. There is also a sound sample.

Preview (beginning of the article)
Sonny Crocket drove a Ferrari Daytona Spider on the streets of Miami Beach as an undercover drug cop in the television series "Miami Vice" in the mid-1980s. At least that's what it looked like, because the supposed Ferrari was actually a replica based on a Corvette. This also began to bother Enzo Ferrari and so Crocket was soon given a real Ferrari Testarossa (repainted white) for his chases. However, Cocket (alias Don Johnson), usually clad in linen suits and pastel-colored T-shirts, could not be staged really well in the coupé. If the series had been filmed ten years later, the TV star would certainly have been given a Ferrari F355 Spider. Sonny would have been perfectly dressed for the occasion.
