We know it from the James Bond film "The Man with the Golden Gun", but it actually existed and was tested in the summer of 1973, a device that was both a car and an airplane. It consisted of a combination of parts from a Cessna Skymaster and a modified Ford.
In just two minutes, the two parts could be separated and reunited. While the Ford was then able to continue its service, the wings with elevator were probably doomed to inactivity without the car.
What happened to it? We don't know.
