The German traffic offender register is located in Flensburg. Thirty years ago, everything could still be touched there, it was literally a card index.
This became particularly apparent when, following the amendment to the Road Traffic Act, only fines of DM 80 or more were entered and therefore those below this limit had to be deleted from June 1, 1983. And deletion, i.e. removal from the central traffic register, meant the large-scale deployment of the shredder at the KBA, as can be seen in the photo.
