New cars (at car shows) always attract a lot of interested people; year after year, the motor shows in the 1970s were able to report record attendance. However, British Leyland does not seem to have fully trusted the attractiveness of the models on display at the Paris Motor Show in 1972. It is doubtful at best whether the show visitors would have had any eyes at all for the Austin 2200 or the Triumph GT6 .
