Ford konnte Anfang der Zwanzigerjahre bereits in England gute Verkaufszahlen vorweisen. Der Verkauf von US-Wagen in Europa war also durchaus lukrativ. So entschloss man sich, eine weitere Produktionsstätte in Deutschland zu eröffnen. Zunächst baute man in Berlin Autos, aber ab den Dreissigerjahren fertige man die Personenwagen in Köln. Mit vielen historischen Bildern werden in diesem Artikel die Anfänge von Ford in Deutschland zusammengefasst.

Für die meisten Leute ist der VW Käfer der Volkswagen schlechthin, und dies im Sinne des Wortes. Ein Wagen für das Volk, ein Volksauto. Und tatsächlich war der Käfer überdurchschnittlich erfolgreich. Doch vor ihm überschritt bereits das Model T von Ford die 15-Millionen-Schwelle und in der Neuzeit schafften es Toyota Corolla, VW Golf und die F-Serie von Ford sogar auf über 30 Millionen, womit sie aber nicht die einzigen Volksautos blieben. Dieser Bericht schaut auf einige ausgewählte Produktions-Erfolge der Autogeschichte zurück und zeigt sie auf 200 Bildern. Ein Augenschmaus!
