Der Bugatti Type 39 ist ein Type 35 mit einem kleineren Motor. Er wurde ab 1925 im Werksteam von Bugatti bei Rennen eingesetzt, wo er dank seines günstigen Leistungsgewicht die grösseren Grand Prix Rennwagen ganz schön ärgern konnte, einfach, weil er agiler zu fahren war als die Konkurrenz. Die tollkühnen Rennfahrer erreichten damals Höchstgeschwindigkeiten von über 160 km/h, und die Rennen dauerten oft mehrere Stunden. Dieser Bericht porträtiert einen der zehn gebauten Type 39 und erzählt seine Geschichte.
