The low centre of gravity, light weight and high aerodynamic efficiency give superb performance and road holding. Safety is an important integral part of the Marcos design. The hydraulic disc brakes and radial tyres ensure excellent handling, and there are other features such as well placed safety belt anchors, crash padded panels and a collapsible steering column. The Marcos combines racebred response with luxurious grand touring comfort. Contoured bodyhugging seats with padded headrests, sunroof, spacious luggage compartment and clear allround visibility contribute to the pleasures of town or country driving. The new Volvo B30 3-litre six cylinder engine is the result of a carefully calculated balance between output, tractive effort fuel economy, running reliability and lifetime. That is why it has outstanding performance for fast overtaking acceleration and smooth quiet running on long trips. The B30 engine has a precision balanced and robustly dimensioned crankshaft which is carried in seven main bearings and has an unusually large bearing journal area. Another factor contributing to the very low level of engine noise is the fact that the air cleaner intake is located in front of the radiator.
