... n 1987 the Board of Directors defined the midand longterm development programme of the Company, setting up an expansion of production capacity and an enhancement of human resources. A continuous improvement in quality was identified as a process of no return that must be faced. It was therefore decided to put into practice a new philosophy expanding the concept of Product Quality to one of Total Quality. This has now become part of our Corporate culture. The impact of this new course is all encompassing. It is not limited to specific production areas but extends all the way from top management to the labour base, making everybody part of an integrated process with each person contributing their best. It is also an innovative philosophy, since it reviews and measures both unnecessary cost and lost profit opportunities, integrates different methods, involves component and service suppliers and, last but not least, identifies a performance standard for every process with a clear goal - "Zero Defects".
