And once again Paris...
01/23/2026
The anticipation is great - next week we're heading to Paris once again, to the 50th Rétromobile. On the one hand, this is due to the trade fair itself, and on the other, of course, to the city on the Seine. I associate it with a certain magic in the context of the automobile. Its importance in automotive history is well known - and Jay Leno, America's number one car collector in terms of his media presence, emphasizes it again and again as soon as he sits in a French car: Paris invented automobile traffic in the first place, not the car itself, but its use as a means of transport. And that will always be the case - even if many things have changed since then. «Paris sera toujours Paris...»
Images flicker before my mind's eye: Crossing Paris at night in a classic, the illuminated Arc de Triomphe in front of you, driving along the Champs-Élysées. Or the same on a Sunday morning when the sun rises, almost without traffic. Or taking a ride in a duck through the streets of Montmartre and then stopping in front of the Sacré-Coeur to take a picture. Well, I'll have plenty of time to dream about such things, because I'll be going there by TGV...
Why go up on foot when you can go there by 2CV?
And yes, from the Rétromobile we'll certainly be delivering content that's relevant and about real cars, not just daydreams - I promise! À plus!
