The matching cups for the Art Car
Recently, while drinking an espresso, the painting on the cup reminded me of a BMW Art Car. And indeed. After a brief search in the Zwischengas archive, I found the 1992 BMW M3 GTR painted by Sandro (Alessandro) Chia.
Sandro Chia is an Italian painter, born in April 1946, who is known as a transavantgarde artist, among other things.
And yes, his art also appeared on espresso cups from the company Amici Caffè, founded by Annemarie and Francesco Illy. The artistic espresso cups are sought after, a complete set (6 cups with saucers) is offered for EUR 300.
Unfortunately, my set is no longer complete, but since I discovered the connection between the cups and the BMW Art Car, the coffee from these cups tastes even better ...
