Is the classic car market in the doldrums? The desire to buy is definitely there (question of the month)
At the moment, many classic car and modern classic car enthusiasts don't seem to be in the mood to buy, if you listen to the trade and analyze the increasing downtimes of vehicles for sale. But is this really true, is there really a certain buying fatigue?
We turned to our Zwischengas readers and asked them the following " question of the month": "Are you still planning to buy a classic car in 2025?"
In fact, 53.8% answered with a clear "no", i.e. over half of the more than 260 readers who took part are not planning to buy (another) classic or modern classic car this year.
A further 8% assume that no new car will be added to the garage this year, but more likely next year.
However, 31.3 % would definitely buy a classic car if the right car came onto the market at the right price, and a further 3.8 % will certainly buy another classic/young car this year.
The remaining 3.1% did not find any of the answers suitable for their situation.
However, with over 35% of respondents willing to buy, one can certainly be optimistic from a vendor's point of view; after all, it is always a question of timing and opportunity.
