Cooling down the car without air conditioning?
Especially in summer, many drivers of classic cars would like to have air conditioning to bring their car to a bearable temperature before or shortly after starting. But there is apparently a trick that can be used to lower the temperature in the car without an air conditioning compressor.
It works like this: Open the window to the ideally shadier (and cooler) side, preferably the rear window. Then open the (front) door positioned diagonally opposite in quick succession with pressure and close it again. Apparently this sucks the hot air out of the car and brings in cooler air. This should actually work, I will test it myself soon.
Of course, I didn't come up with this trick myself, but a professor of fluid dynamics called Hannah Frey, who shared this knowledge on TikTok.
P.S. Readers are welcome to offer other and better tricks in the comment field ...
