You probably don't remember this car. This is hardly surprising, as the "B.R.V." only made a brief public appearance at the London ESV (Experimental Safety Vehicle) conference in 1974 and probably at other similar conferences in order to research how accidents could be avoided or their consequences minimized by using new production methods and integrating more safety thinking.
Renault took a slightly different approach to the B.R.V. (for "basic research vehicle") than many other manufacturers. The aim of the B.R.V. was to research the basics and not to make an existing vehicle more "accident-friendly".
Marketing probably had little say in the design, which is why there were no clear similarities with other Renault vehicles, even if one or two parts did come from series production ...
