The RSth of its kind

If that's not a reason to take part! Instead of an uninspired cash prize, sport auto promised one participant in the 1992 readers' poll a one-of-a-kind automobile. Exclusively for the competition of the more horsepower-oriented ams offshoot, Ford would stuff an Escort Turnier with the innards of the otherwise only three-door RS 2000.
This was no empty promise: At the Saarlouis plant, an Escort 1.8 Ghia was indeed fitted with the drive and chassis of the hatchback sports car and also visually adapted to the 150 hp: Spoiler replacement, wider fenders and 16-inch wheels from the Escort Cosworth, which also donated the white instruments and bucket seats in the interior.
After a detailed vehicle presentation in sport auto 2/1993 provided proof of the existence of the uniquely potent compact station wagon, we would now be interested to know 32 years later: Does it still exist? Please send any information to the editors.
