One-off Rover 2000 Convertible from Graber

Well, it wasn't actually a one-off, because there were apparently two Graber Rover 2000 Cabriolets, built in 1965 and shown at the 1966 Geneva Motor Show. The order came from Rover. Graber built the zero series for a planned 2-liter convertible, called the "Rover 2000 Convertible". During the conversion, the rear doors were "removed" and the front doors extended, but the lines of the saloon were otherwise left largely unchanged. The interior was upgraded with four Graber individual seats.
Series production came to nothing, as Rover had in the meantime been able to expand its range to include convertibles and coupés by taking over the Alvis company.
Herrmann Graber, otherwise known for opulent and beautifully designed luxury cars, also repeatedly accepted orders from industry, including building a road-going version of the Ford GT40, which should also have been the basis for a series.
Additional information on the Rover 2000 Convertible can be found on a website that describes one of the two convertibles (chassis number 40306713 C) and its development.
